Cynosure Elite iQ
The Cynosure Elite iQ is an FDA-cleared dual-wavelength laser system combining a 755nm Alexandrite laser and a 1064nm Nd:YAG laser in a single platform — making it one of the most versatile and effective laser hair removal systems available.
The 755nm Alexandrite wavelength is optimized for lighter skin tones (Fitzpatrick Types I–III), while the 1064nm Nd:YAG wavelength penetrates deeper and is specifically designed for darker and tanned skin tones (Fitzpatrick Types IV–VI).
FDA Clearance: The Elite iQ is FDA-cleared for permanent hair reduction for all Fitzpatrick skin types I–VI, including tanned skin. It is also cleared for vascular lesions, pigmented lesions, and wrinkle reduction.

How many sessions will I need?
Most clients achieve 80–90% permanent hair reduction in 6–8 sessions. Hair grows in cycles, and laser energy only affects follicles in the active growth phase — which is why multiple sessions spaced 4–8 weeks apart are necessary. Hormonal conditions or certain body areas may require additional sessions.
Does it hurt?
Most clients describe the sensation as a quick snap or warmth — similar to a rubber band flick. The Elite iQ includes a cooling system to maximize comfort. Sensitivity varies by area; the upper lip and bikini line tend to be more sensitive than the legs or back.
Can I get laser hair removal if I have a tan?
The Elite iQ’s 1064nm Nd:YAG wavelength can safely treat tanned skin. However, we recommend avoiding intentional tanning (sun or self-tanner) for 2 weeks before treatment to ensure the safest and most effective results. The Skintel reader will assess your current melanin level at each visit.
What is the difference between a single session and a package?
Single sessions are available if you want to try the treatment before committing. The 6-session package offers built-in savings (one free session equivalent) and is the most cost-effective path to permanent results. Packages are non-refundable but are transferable and do not expire.
Who is not a candidate for laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal is not recommended during pregnancy, for clients on photosensitizing medications (such as certain antibiotics or Accutane), or for those with active skin infections in the treatment area. A full health history review is completed during your consultation to ensure you are a safe candidate.
