The Technology
The Alma Pixel Handpiece
The Alma Pixel handpiece uses fractional ablative laser technology to create controlled, pixel-sized microchannels in the skin. By treating targeted areas while leaving the surrounding tissue intact, this approach supports the skin’s natural healing process — stimulating collagen and elastin production for progressive skin renewal.
This fractional approach allows for meaningful resurfacing results with a more controlled recovery compared to fully ablative treatments. The intact surrounding tissue acts as a healing reservoir, accelerating recovery and reducing downtime.
The Alma Pixel is indicated for procedures addressing photodamage, pigmented lesions, and certain types of scars — including acne scars, surgical scars, and trauma scars.
Indications
What the Alma Pixel Addresses
Photodamage & Sun Spots
UV-induced skin damage, including uneven tone, rough texture, fine lines, and surface discoloration from years of sun exposure.
Pigmented Lesions
Superficial pigmented lesions including age spots, seborrheic keratoses, and surface-level hyperpigmentation that can be addressed with fractional ablative energy.
Scar Revision
Acne scars, surgical scars, and trauma scars respond well to fractional ablative resurfacing, which remodels scar tissue and stimulates new collagen formation.

What to Expect
Consultation
Review your goals, skin concerns, and health history. Determine the appropriate treatment depth and protocol.
Treatment Day
A topical numbing cream is applied before treatment. The Pixel handpiece delivers precise fractional energy to the skin.
Days 1–5
Redness, warmth, and mild swelling are normal. Skin will feel tight and may begin to bronze or peel as microchannels heal.
Week 2 Onward
Skin clears and reveals improved texture and tone. Collagen remodeling continues for 3–6 months after treatment.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a Light and Corrective treatment?
A Light treatment uses a lower energy setting and shallower microchannel depth, ideal for clients seeking a glow, pore refinement, or mild texture improvement with minimal downtime (2–3 days of redness). A Corrective treatment uses higher energy and deeper microchannels, targeting acne scars, deeper wrinkles, and significant sun damage — with 5–7 days of visible healing.
How long is the recovery?
Recovery depends on treatment depth. Light treatments typically involve 2–3 days of redness and mild peeling. Corrective treatments involve 5–7 days of more visible redness, bronzing, and peeling. Most clients are comfortable in public within 5–7 days with appropriate makeup coverage. Full skin renewal continues for weeks after the visible healing phase.
How many sessions will I need?
For general skin rejuvenation and glow, a single session may be sufficient with periodic maintenance. For significant texture concerns, acne scarring, or sun damage, a series of 3 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart is recommended for optimal results.
Is fractional ablative resurfacing different from other laser types?
Yes. Fractional ablative lasers (like the Alma Pixel) create microscopic channels in the skin while leaving surrounding tissue intact — balancing meaningful results with controlled recovery. Fully ablative lasers treat the entire surface and require more significant downtime. Non-ablative lasers work below the surface without removing skin, with minimal downtime but more gradual results.
Who is not a candidate?
Laser resurfacing is not recommended during pregnancy, for clients on isotretinoin (Accutane) within the past 6–12 months, those with active skin infections or cold sores in the treatment area, or clients with a history of keloid scarring. A full consultation will determine whether you are a good candidate and which treatment depth is appropriate for your skin.
